The survey area covered in this report includes a 15.5 mile segment of the Obion River in Dyer Co., TN, which has been scheduled for canalization. A narrow corridor, generally 1000 ft. wide, centers on the proposed channel from a point downstream from the Bradleytown bridge to a point upstream near the mouth of Running Reelfoot Bayou. This corridor includes a total area of approximately 1580 acres. Of this total, 550 acres or 35% is forested. The remainder is, for the most part, planted in soy beans.
