One Kind Man

Lancashire, 1931. Finn Carlisle was devastated when he lost his wife and unborn child a few years ago, and has been travelling ever since. Just as he is ready to settle down again, his great-uncle dies and leaves everything to him, including Heythorpe House in Ellindale. Finn arrives to find a village of people who need jobs, a house that hasn¿t been lived in for thirty years and Reggie, an eleven-year-old who¿s run away from the nearby orphanage and its brutal Director Buddle. When Finn sees Reggie¿s bruises, he decides the boy will never go back there. Finn¿s new neighbours help him save Reggie ¿ but his new plans are thrown into turmoil.
