A History Of The Watts Family

Edward Watts (d.1796) married Lucy Carter, and had at least two sons, William and Edward. William married Frances (Crook) Templar Altham (they had three children) in Calcutta, India; he was a British consul and they later served in Cartagena, Colombia; after his death she married William Johnson. Edward Watts Jr. (1764/1765-1840) was in the British civil service (first in India, then in Brazil) and married twice. George Burghall Watts I (1840-1911), a grandson of Edward, emigrated from Colombia to New York City and married twice. Descendants lived in New York, New England and elsewhere. Many ancestors lived in Colombia, Brazil, India, Italy, Scotland, England and elsewhere.
