Lost in a sea of cultural constraints, unrealistic expectations, and duty, Mila Malek does not have an identity of her own. As a Lebanese American woman, she must live the life her mother has chosen for her and conform to the rules of marrying a Muslim man. As a pharmacy student at Auburn University, Mila begins a journey of self-discovery on a road filled with twists, turns, and dead ends. There are detours along the way that force her to look deep inside herself. Is she capable of loving herself and others? Does she know what genuine love is? Will following her heart cause her mother's heart to break? During her journey, Mila encounters three men-Jason, David, and Omar-each of whom bring out a unique essence of herself.
