Excerpt from Vinland and Its Ruins: Some of the Evidence That Northmen Were in Massachusetts in Pre-Columbian Days This path is so like paths in Iceland, for which there have been gathered stones and which later on have been trodden down by the feet of horses and men, that I would not have hesitated to declare that it might be Scandinavian if in it there had not been found bricks beside the other stones, which seems to indicate that the path must belong to the same period as the house which was dug into the hill.
