This research will analyze the changes that took place in the UAE's foreign policiessince the establishment of the UAE federation in the year 1971 till date. The main aim of thisresearch is to demonstrate how the shaping and formulation of the UAE's foreign policieswere mainly depending on the benefits that the UAE will achieve from using such foreignpolicies through its history especially that the UAE have confronted many conflicts andthreats since the day of its establishment especially with Iran.The UAE used through its history many types of foreign policies that includedstraight forward, hedging and soft power. The use of each of these directions of foreignpolicies were always according to the situation and the time interval related to when theywere used and led to the establishment of the UAE as one of the key players in theinternational community and the Middle East region who have the abilities to confront thethreats that may rise and also protect itself through recognized military abilities and strongties with the main international powers.The conclusion of this research indicates that the UAE even being a small countrywhen compared to other countries in the region, but it could establish itself as an importantstate in the shaping and control of the main events that takes place specially in the MiddleEast and that the main foreign policy of the UAE that depends on diplomatic relations,negotiations and dialogue was effective to achieve all the interests of the country.
