This Nat. Center for Educ. Statistics report examines the state of public & private school library media centers in the U.S. in 1999-2000. The data used in the report come from the 1999-1000 Schools & Staffing Survey, the nation's most extensive sample survey of America's public & private schools & library media centers. The body of this report is composed of extensive tables providing an overview of school library media center data from the 1999-2000 SASS. Currently, the library media center is defined as an organized collection of printed &/or audiovisual &/or computer resources that is administered as a unit, is located in a designated place or places, & makes resources & services available to students, teachers, & administrators.
