Continuing the enchanting tale of a clan of miniature creatures called the People and their epic battle for a safe new home ... Following their travels on the Ark, the intrepid Willow People are now settled but face a new and unexpected challenge: the giant head of a great snake trapped in an underground cavern. His body stretches across the world, his tail lies far from his head in some unknown, unseen land. Because snakes can only die when they curl up with their tails near their heads, he must live for ever, imprisoned in the gloomy depths of the earth. The desire to curl up consumes him, and the People of the Willow Clan are overwhelmed by the call to find his tail. But others predict the end of the world if ever the tail meets the head.
