The Broken Bargain is based primarily in Ildathach a realm where peace between the Unseelie and Seelie fae is feigned at best. But what if the villains in the story are actually the heroes? Alessia is a nineteen year old female with abandonment and temper issues, who was sent to the mortal realm and into foster care at the age of eight. At nineteen, she is summoned back to Ildathach where she is required to participate in the Pageant, a competition that takes place every two hundred and fifty years to determine the new Seelie ruler. Alessia will have to wrestle with the demons that plague her mind from her time in the mortal realm, as well as fight fae that she long thought were the "good guys" in her story. Along the way, she struggles with her romantic feelings for Kol an Unseelie prince, while also learning to love herself. The book is based upon Irish mythology and focuses, in particular on the Tuatha De Danann and the Goddess Danu, who (in this book) was separated long ago into four treasures. Will Alessia be able to fulfill the prophecy, reuniting the treasures and saving Danu's many worlds?
