Sustainable Land Resource Management In Himalayan Region

Land and water are the two most important natural resources of the Himalayan region, since they provide the vital support for human and animal lives. However, their degradation is a major problem. They are undergoing deterioration in soil quality because of injudicious use caused by escalating population pressure, increase in urbanization clubbed with developmental activities and bringing the fragile marginal lands under cultivation.
