This volume introduces the history of welfare policy, community development, and provides a look into providing culturally competent service. The book is structured into three main themes -- the history of ethnic and racial minority groups in the Progressive Era; the historical evolution of social work and micro and macro practice with minority groups; and the ethnic agency and community.
