Excerpt from Report of Proceedings of the Twenty-Sixth Regular Meeting: Being the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the General Christian Missionary Convention, Held in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 20-24, 1874 The Missionary was published two years under the auspices of the General Convention, when, owing to the fact t at many to whom it was continued the second year failed to pay, it was found that the expenses exceeded the receipts by $191 for the two ears. The Board not feeling justified in riskin any more expense, declin longer any financial responsibility in it, an turned it over to private hands, in the house of Bosworth, Chase 85 Hall. We do not feel, however, that this money was any loss to the cause, because its advocacy to the missionary work, advertising it and rousing a missionary spirit was worth very much more than it cost.
