Excerpt from Periodical Engineering Literature, 1879: Published in the English Language The preparation of this List was commenced some months since, with the intention of ascertaining the extent of periodical literature containing articles of interest to the engineer, published in the English language, and for that purpose the most important libraries of Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Cambridge (mass), were visited, and authentic information collected relating to the history of each of the periodicals herein mentioned asfar as it is possible to do so. In many cases a complete series of the periodicals could not be found. The list is arranged alphabetically, according to the original title of the publication.
