Contemporary Issues In Regional Planning

This collection of 15 essays, presented by a team of academics from the School of Planning of Oxford Brookes U. (UK), focus on the changes introduced in 1997 by Tony Blair's Labour government in the system of British regional planning. Of particular importance are the introduction of the Regional Development Agencies and Regional Chambers and shifts in substantive policy affecting the fields of housing, transport, and business. The contributors consist of both academics and practitioners, leading to the inclusion of holistic perspectives in addition to considerations of more "nuts-and-bolts" issues.
