Excerpt from Alien Property Custodian The apparatus makes use of a band to be ap plied to the chest of the patient, which band incorporates an elastic bag: the band is herein after called the chest's band. The apparatus comprises a source of gas under pressure and a mechanically actuated distributor which controls at suitable intervals the supply of gas under pres sure to the chest's band and its discharge there from, in such a manner that the periodical com pressions and decompressions of the band give rise to corresponding movements of the patient's chest. The invention will now be described more in detail with reference to a practical embodiment thereof, which is illustrated on the accompany ing drawings.
