Have you ever had a relative or patient stricken with the Alzheimer's/Dementia disease and you didn't have a clue as to how you would care for your love one at home or in a facility? Many times, people find it hard to locate great care for their family member or friend. Or maybe the facility they found to care for their loved one was too expensive. Just because they decided to keep their family member at home doesn't mean they understand the disease. Failing to understand the disease makes it hard for a family member or care giver to care for their Alzheimer's/Dementia family member or patient efficiently. Therefore, this workbook was created to help families and caregivers tackle some of the challenges they will face when caring for a person with the Alzheimer's disease. There are so many different attitudes you will have to deal with when dealing with a person with the Alzheimer's disease. Sometimes the person stricken with the disease is sad, depressed, happy and even combative. However, not all people with the disease becomes combative, they may be roamers meaning, they roam outside any time of the day or night nowhere to be found. This workbook does not give medical advice, it just gives you the basic steps I have learned for caring for an Alzheimer's/Dementia family member. This workbook gives examples of how to relate to situations that might arise with your family member who is stricken by the Alzheimer's/Dementia disease. For example, what to do if your loved one becomes combative? how would you calm him or her down? The workbook will also answer questions about how to get your loved one to take a shower including what to do and what not to do. Don't take it for granted just because you know your family member, taking care of an Alzheimer's/Dementia family member or friend could be equal to taking care of a two-year-old child or a baby. With this workbook, it could help you to relate to your family member in the proper manner. This book could help your family member to stay safe creating a comfortable atmosphere for family members and caregivers who work in a senior living facilities or nursing homes.
